Members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson conducted their annual Life Chain on Oct. 4 on U.S. 90 near the church. The event expresses opposition to abortion each first Sunday in October. Although the Supreme Court in 2022 overturned the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion, the procedure remains legal in 37 states, and battles continue over issues such as medication abortions. Capital punishment has also become a target of the pro-life agenda.
