Ribbon-cutting will open sheriff's Lower St. Martin substation

Sheriff Becket Breaux and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office invited the public and members of the media to join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Lower St. Martin Substation.
The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Lower St. Martin Substation, 3003 La. 70.
The 1,400-square-foot facility contains four offices, two restrooms and a large conference room, replacing the former 360-square-foot substation.
The new facility will provide additional space for deputies and allow the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office to strengthen its presence in the Stephensville and Belle River communities, the Sheriff's Office said.
The substation was made possible through the donation of the property, valued at $80,000, by Warren Stephen Orlando Jr. and Lisa Carriere Orlando.
The total cost of the new building was $250,000
