Law enforcement agencies report nine battery arrests

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Area law enforcement agencies reported nine arrests on battery and domestic battery charges in the last week.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Robert Bruffy, 49, Hamburg Loop, Simmesport, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of simple battery and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Ke'Mone Darby, 18, Apple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Sept. 4 on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), resisting an officer, simple battery and three counts of failure to appear for court hearing (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Kiashonte Ross, 23, Apple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery.

--Jeremie Hanks, 49, Brownell Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Mekhi Branton, 23, Greenwood Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:46 a.m. Sept. 4 on a charge of theft (under $1,000).

--Leon Scott, 39, Park Street, Patterson, was arrested at 12:06 p.m. Sept. 4 on a charge of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams). (Released on summons.)

--Kyden Brown, 20, Chester Bowles Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. Sept. 4 on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and possession of tobacco by a person under 21.

--Brett Sanders, 35, Lagonda Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Sept. 4 on a charge of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams). (Released on summons.)

--Emanuel Acosta, 19, Sandi Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 6:08 p.m. Saturday as a fugitive from the U.S. Marshals Service.

--Timothy Francis, 39, Idaho Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. Saturday on charges of bicycle lights required, possession of cocaine, resisting an officer, obstruction of justice and stop sign violation.

--Marlon Lopez, 22, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:52 p.m. Saturday on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Zavier Prince, 19, Ditch Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday on a charge of flight from an officer.

--Isreal Gomes, 23, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. Sunday on four counts of simple criminal damage to property and three counts of felony criminal damage to property.

--Holli Daigle, 50, Palm Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and cruelty to juveniles.

--Laci Cavalier, 36, Elise Cour, Pierre Part, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (language) and resisting an officer.

--Oscar Jimenez, 25, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Sunday on charge of driving while intoxicated and no driver’s license.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Shailon Lyntreal Favors, 32, Patterson, was arrested Tuesday on charges of unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling and domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set.

--Daren Paul Leonard, 42, Franklin, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Jakhyri Carbin, 24, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of fire raising in a correctional facility. Carbin continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Joshua Donnel Robertson, 34, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of fire raising in a correctional facility. Robertson continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Jose Arthuro Contreras, 44, Amelia, was arrested at 5:52 p.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated); criminal trespass; littering; simple obstruction of highway; identity theft; and unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of fraudulent
documents.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Alvin Haywood Jr., 53, Gonzales, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Sunday on a Kenner Police Department warrant. Haywood was transferred to another agency.

--Leo Griffin Vaughn, 48, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--David Dwayne Picou Sr., 62, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging burglary from a vehicle, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property. Picou was released on a $15,000 bond.

--Brennan Richard Tabor, 38, Patterson, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging principal to theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Brian Ashley, 52, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and second-degree battery with medical attention. Ashley was booked, processed, and held on a $10,500 bond.

--Tahra Demarco, 44, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and second-degree battery with medical attention. Demarco was booked, processed and held on a $7,500 bond.

--Sarah Sinitiere, 43, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and second-degree battery with medical attention. Sinitiere was booked, processed and held on a $7,500 bond.

--Miquel Zaleta, 21, Harris, Texas, was arrested at 5:21 p.m. Sept. 4 on charges of speeding over 25 mph, improper acceleration, reckless operation and no driver's license. Zaleta was booked, processed and released on a $1,257 bond.

--Christa Fulgham, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Sept. 4 on charges of lights required and operating a vehicle while license is suspended or revoked. Fulgham was released to appear in Mayor's Court.

--Dakota Kleimann, 33, Patterson, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of marijuana. Kleimann was booked, processed and held on a $2,500 bond.

--Robert Gros, 56, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Saturday on charges of improper display of temporary registration license plate, operating a vehicle while license suspended or revoked, possession of Schedule II drugs, and possession of marijuana. Gros was booked, processed and held on a $4,500 bond.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Tony Johnson, 57, Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:58 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated Aug. 8 alleging battery of a dating partner. Johnson was booked, processed and released on a $3,500 bond.

--Carl Joseph, Jr., 32, Curtis Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Joseph was booked, processed and held on a $500 bond.

--August Gloskey, II, 66, Second Street, Franklin, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. Sunday on charges of criminal trespassing and two counts of obscenity. Gloskey was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Don Hargroder, 70, Princeton Woods Loop, Lafayette, was arrested at 5:03 p.m. Monday on charges of speeding and careless operation. Hargroder was booked, processed and released on a $645.50 bond.

--Riley Lee, 52, Gumpoint Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Monday on charges of remaining where forbidden, aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce, aggravated flight from an officer, off-road vehicles, security required, operating a vehicle while license is suspended, driving on roadway laned for traffic, six counts of stop sign violation, and signals by hand and arm or signal lamps. Lee was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Jeremie Hanks, 49, Brownell Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:01 p.m. Monday on a warrant for 6th Ward Morgan City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of allowing dogs to roam. Hanks was booked, processed, and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
