Morgan City police, St. Mary deputies make drug arrests

Morgan City police and St. Mary deputies reported five arrests on drug charges in the last week.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Devante Frank, 34, Dora Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:05 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, resisting an officer and battery on an officer, and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

--Adam Runyon, 31, Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona, was arrested at 10:18 a.m. Aug. 26 on charges of disturbing the peace, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Ashish Sahani, 27, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:58 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana (under 14 grams) and open container.

--Tiesha Carbin, 34, Arizona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Friday on charges of simple assault and criminal damage to property.

--Dwayne McZeal, 19, James Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.

--Madison Salvador, 21, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:16 a.m. Saturday on a charge disturbing the peace.

--Lacy Lapoint, 32, Karen Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Saturday on a charge of violation of a protective order.

--Elmin Hernandez-Curry, 19, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Saturday on charges of stop sign violation, no driver’s license, reckless operation and driving while intoxicated.

--Darrin Hemphill, 58, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:49 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Richard Giroir Jr., 66, Arizona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:53 p.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6thWard Morgan City Court).

--Joshua Jones, 39, Stephensville Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Kevin Gros, 62, Tupelo Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ruben Reyes-Andrade, 47, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and tail lamps required.

--Ashish Sahani, 27, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Aug. 26 on charges of urinating in public and disturbing the peace (intoxication).

--Sharina Dixon, 21, Bowman Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:17 p.m. Aug. 26 on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Yarnell Green, 49, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Aug. 26 on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxication).

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Damarcus Deshawn McNeal, 29, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:17 a.m. Sunday on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery. McNeal was transported to another jurisdiction.

--Martel Tevin Malik Swarn, 21, Jeanerette, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and license plate required.

Swarn was released on a $2,500 bond.

--David Lee Lodrigue, 46, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for possession of marijuana. Lodrigue was released on a completed sentence.

--Tyrone Len Freeman, 57, Franklin, was arrested at 8:44 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, tail lamps required and driving under suspension.

Bail was set at $5,250.

--James Ray Thoune, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:18 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging theft. Bail was set at $5,000.

--Melvin Osiel Minera-Calenti, 48, Franklin, was arrested on August at 7:34 p.m. Aug. 25 on charges of domestic abuse (child endangerment law) and domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $20,000.

--Danielle Ruth Jones, 39, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:38 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of cruelty to animals. Jones was released on a $4,000 bond.

--Tylan Lee Groves, 19, Patterson, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Aug. 26 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Lysander Trent Williams Sr., 57, Franklin, was arrested at 10:07 p.m. Aug. 26 on a warrant alleging failure to appear. Bail has not been set at this time.

Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Branden Mills, 47, Patterson, was arrested at 4:03 p.m. Thursday on the charge of simple battery. Mills was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond.

--Jo Siya James, 21, Patterson, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Aug. 26 on a charge of remaining where forbidden. James was booked, processed, and released.
