MCHS Class of 1976 turns reunion into celebration
They’re not calling it a high school reunion. They’re calling it a celebration.
Faye Kahn and Robert McClellan, two members of Morgan City High’s Class of 1976, are planning activities coinciding with the Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
“This is our gift to honor the city we love,” said Faye Kahn.
McClellan orchestrated bringing in the band AXIS 5 for a musical performance at 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the judge’s stand at Lake End Park. The performance is open to the public.
You can also attend a Blessing of the Fleet Brunch 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, at Café JoJo’s in downtown Morgan City.
The cost is $36, which includes food and beverages. To RSVP, call Kahn at 979-219-3593.
For Class of 1976 members, the events begin with a meet and greet at Pool Do’s on Friday, Sept. 4.
A formal dinner for members of the class is scheduled for 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, preceding the live music at Lake End Park.
