Police agencies work drug, battery cases
(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)
Area law enforcement agencies reported five arrests on drug charges in the last week, including one for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The agencies also made five arrests on battery charges and two more alleging domestic abuse.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
•Lamarcus Francois, 32, Bowman Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana (more than 14 grams), possession of Tapentadol, resisting an officer by flight, driving under suspension and two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court), and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
•Dantavius Butler, 22, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:12 a.m. Friday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
•Anthony Harris, 30, Arizona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:10 a.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and remaining where forbidden.
•Audriena Johnson, 31, Freret Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).
•Louis Topham, 50, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:16 a.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6TH Ward Morgan City Court).
•Sydnie Wainwright, 30, Oakdale Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:22 p.m. July 29 on charges of disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
•Cherri Lambert, 50, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:12 p.m. July 20 as a fugitive from Probation and Parole.
•Tamoz Allen, 31, Trevino Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:35 p.m. July 20 on a charge of possession of marijuana (less than 14 grams).
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
•Samantha Jolene Landreneau, 34, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated), resisting arrest or officer, and battery on a police officer. Bail was set at $7,500.
•Sheremy Michelle Louviere Tisdale, 38, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:55 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging three counts of domestic abuse (child endangerment law). Tisdale was released on a $22,500 bond.
•Aleyder Vidal Chub-Quisque, 33, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation (no accident) and driver must be licensed. Chub was released on a $1,840 bond.
•Tyler Jermaine Sylvester, 26, Berwick, was arrested at 9:24 p.m. Friday on a charge of second-degree battery. Sylvester remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
•Damien Aurelius Hale, 36, Franklin, was arrested at 10:01 a.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and simple battery. Bail was set at $3,500.
•Troy Michael Perez, 61, Ponchatoula, was arrested at 1:28 p.m. Friday on four warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of nonconsensual disclosure of a private image, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug
paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II drug and speeding.
Bail has not been set at this time.
•Shauntell Nicole Hartdegen, 43, Pierre Part, was arrested at 7:59 p.m. Friday on a charge of simple burglary. Bail was set at $20,000.
•Paige Cline Saint Marie Hartegen, 27, St. Martinville, was arrested at 7:59 p.m. Friday on charges of simple burglary and criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $30,000.
•Christopher Lewis Avery, 47, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was arrested at 3:11 a.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of direct contempt, speeding and failure to honor a written promise to appear. Avery was released on a $530 bond.
•Donovan Michael Chilton, 40, Franklin, was arrested at 8:32 a.m. July 29 on charges of simple criminal damage to property and simple burglary. Bail was set at $20,000.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
•Shanna M. Orgeron, 33, Lagonda Road, Morgan City, was booked at 7:52 a.m. Thursday after an arrest by Morgan City police. Orgeron was booked in Patterson on charges of possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Orgeron is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.
•Jorge A. Melendez, 45, South Forest Lawn Drive, Gretna, was arrested at 8 a.m. July 29 on charges of stop sign violation and no driver’s license. Melendez was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $559.
•Timothy M. Miller, 45, North Avenue P, Laporte, Texas, was arrested at 1:14 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), resisting an officer with force or violence, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, maximum speed limit,
improper lane usage and resisting an officer. Miller is incarcerated at the Patterson PD with no bond set.
•Anthony R. Garcia, 38, Railroad Avenue, Patterson, was arrested at 3:12 p.m. Thursday on charges of driver’s license suspended or revoked and expired license plate. Garcia was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $652.
•Kimberly M. Brown, 42, Charlotte Street, Gray, was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Friday on charges of speeding 32 mph in a 25-mph zone and driver’s license suspended or revoked. Brown is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $931.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
•Elias Frank Todd, 32, Shannon Street, Patterson, was booked Friday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of justice, and on a detainer from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The charges arise from an incident Feb. 18, when a Narcotics Unit officer observed two individuals walking within the lane of travel creating undue risks to themselves as well as the motoring public.
The deputy made contact with both individuals, one of whom is identified as Todd. As the deputy was interviewing both individuals, Todd began to run. Todd was quickly apprehended and arrested.
While running, Todd discarded a substance believed to be methamphetamine. The package was recovered and seized. It was later determined that during transport to the detention facility, Todd attempted to hide additional suspected methamphetamine in the Sheriff’s Office transport vehicle. That substance was seized as well.
The seized products were sent to the Louisiana State police Crime Lab for analysis, which produced a positive result for methamphetamine.
Deputies obtained arrest warrants for Todd. He was released from the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Todd was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
•Ronald Armond Jr., 32, Muriel Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Thursday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and on a detainer for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The charges arise from an incident in the 100 block of Andras Street on Oct. 16.
Deputies responded to a complaint at the aforementioned location and made contact with the complainant who advised that Armond came to his residence looking for a girl. Armond allegedly broke through the front door and threatened to beat the complainant.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Armond.
Armond has been in the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office since Nov. 13.
Armond was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
•Travis Boatman, 45, Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 9:13 a.m. Friday on a warrant dated July 21 alleging home invasion and battery of a dating partner, and on a warrant for 15th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of resisting an officer.
Boatman was additionally arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and resisting an officer. Boatman was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law
Enforcement Center.
•Jeffery Moses, 44, Josephine Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:52 p.m. Friday on a charge of second-degree battery. Moses was booked, processed and held on a $7,500 bond.
•Sydni Henry, 24, Sugar Hill Drive, New Iberia, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Saturday on charges of speeding, flight from an officer, resisting an officer and failure to register. Henry was booked, processed and released on a $7,000 bond.
•Marjorie Ruffin, 36, Oneal Chube Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:42 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated July 9 alleging criminal damage to property and aggravated battery. Ruffin was additionally arrested on a warrant for 6th Ward Court of Morgan City for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana and disturbing the peace by fighting. Ruffin was booked, processed and held on an $11,973 bond.
•Tyler Duncan, 30, Donna Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated July 7 alleging domestic abuse battery (child endangerment) and domestic abuse aggravated assault (child endangerment). Duncan was booked, processed and held on a $100,000 bond.
•Allen Verret, 18, La. 668, Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Sunday on charges of theft and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. Verret was booked, processed and released on a $3,500 bond.
•Kamron Verret, 20, La. 668, Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:51 p.m. Sunday on four counts of contributing to the delinquency of juvenile and two counts of theft. Verret was booked, processed and released on a $7,000 bond.
•Juvenile was arrested 3:09 p.m. Sunday on a charge of theft.
