Deputies arrest animal welfare advocate in Morgan City theft case

St. Mary deputies have arrested an animal welfare advocate in connection with a Morgan City theft case.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported this arrest:

--Alyssa Muse, 35, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on an outstanding warrant from the Morgan City Police Department alleging theft.

On Saturday morning, deputies made contact with Muse at her residence in Bayou Vista and placed her under arrest on the active warrant. Muse was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

Muse was subsequently transferred to the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

She was booked in Morgan City at 7:40 p.m. Saturday on a charge of theft (under $1,000).

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Brad Romero, 25, Laurel Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:08 a.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Dwayne Romero, 61, Bush Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:32 p.m. Friday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of clonazepam, violation of a drug-free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Russell Francis Sr., 65, Francis Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Friday as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

--Luis Portillo, 26, South Wheatley Street, Ridgeland, Mississippi, was arrested at 11 p.m. Friday on two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jakeelah Steele, 18, Cherry Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:07 a.m. Saturday on charges of access device fraud and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Adrien Coates, 23, Silk Stocking Street, Clarks, arrested at 2:34 a.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Curtlin Clark, 22, Blue Jay Drive, Mansfield, Texas, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated and tail lamps required.

--Joaquima Brown, 31, Martin Luther King, Franklin, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Saturday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Joshua Cormier, 38, Ernest Street, Lake Charles, was arrested 4:15 p.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

--John Ross, 57, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:22 p.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Uriel Hernandez, 33, Country Road 807, Angleton, Texas, was arrested at 1:52 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated and red-light violation.

--Duarte Alvarado, 37, South Wood Street, Chicago, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage.

--Leah Manfre, 49, Park Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 11 p.m. Sunday on charges of simple battery, remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace.

--Zacolby Granger, 34, Leona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:10 a.m. Monday on charges of driving under suspension, headlights required and two counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ronald Lumpkin, 48, Morris Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:08 a.m. Thursday on a charge of theft (under $1,000).

--Jamie Adams, 36, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:48 p.m. Thursday on charges of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Tabatha Walker, 40, North First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

--Bryant Leblanc, 20, North First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

--Anderson Gamonda, 17, Catherine Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. May 13 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco under 21.

--Marc Varnado, 28, Oak Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:28 p.m. May 13 on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carrying of a firearm.

--Anderson Gamonda, 17, Catherine Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. May 13 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco under 21.

--Marc Varnado, 28, Oak Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:28 p.m. May 13 on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carrying of a firearm.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Earliyah A. Edwards, 29, Cleveland Street, Patterson, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Friday on charges of driver’s license suspended or revoked, child restraint, resisting an officer, and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Edwards was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,271.

--William J. Roberson, 64, Live Oak Street, Patterson, was arrested at 6:26 p.m. Friday on charges of distribution or possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and sale distribution or possession of a legend drug without prescription without prescription or order.

Roberson was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

--Lloyjaria D. Humphrey, 30, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Saturday on charges of driver’s license suspended or revoked and no motor vehicle inspection sticker, and on a Morgan City Police Department warrant.

Humphrey was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail and paid a $624 fine.

--Brontraize L. Weber, 39, Oneal Chube Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. Monday on charges of illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a drug-free zone and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and on a warrant for another jurisdiction.

Weber was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Keenze Howard, 60, Augustine Maze Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:07 p.m. Thursday on charges of criminal trespassing and felony theft. Howard was booked, processed and held on a $15,000 bond.

--Raymond Comeaux, 55, Franklin, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Friday on charges of bicycle lights required, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of disturbing the peace
(fighting). Comeaux was booked, processed and held on a $4,568 bond.

--Shane Gibson, 27, Branch Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Friday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Gibson was booked, processed and released to appear in 16th Judicial District Court.

--Joaquima Brown, 31, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested at 1:26 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for 6th Ward Morgan City Court) for failure to appear on charges of driver must be licensed and improper lane usage. Brown was booked, processed and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

--Kaylin Driskill, 29, Joseph Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Saturday on warrants for Baldwin Magistrate Court alleging failure to appear on charges of leash law, disturbing the peace and criminal damage to property, and a warrant for the Baldwin Police Department alleging simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace. Driskill was booked, processed and transported to the Baldwin Police Department.

--Shankquelyn Oliver, 57, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. Monday on a charge of loud noise. Oliver was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
