Drug, battery arrests reported by area law enforcement

Among the arrests reported by local authorities in the last week were eight on drug charges and three on battery or assault charges.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Jacob Gabriel Fernandez, 38, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:59 a.m. Nov. 26 on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam, simple burglary and obstruction of public passages.
--Kentrell Charles, 48, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:10 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana and improper lighting. (Released on summons.)
--Terrence Lance Johnson, 42, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and improper lighting. (Released on summons.)
-- Michael Lee Howard, 55, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:42 a.m. Nov. 26 on two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Lea Morrow, 21, North Prater Street, Lake Charles, was arrested at 7:14 p.m. Nov. 26 on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Keith Rondell Gabriel, 64, Louisa Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Saturday as a fugitive from the Wagoner County, Oklahoma, Sheriff’s Office.
--Adriane Lamar Wilson, 42, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:27 p.m. Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden.
--Bernetta Bee Pennison, 56, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Monday on charges of criminal mischief and improper lighting.
--Denisica Ann Starling, 44, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. Nov. 20 on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
--Anthony Ray Stevenson Jr., 21, Charenton, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Friday on charges of simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace (language) and simple battery, and on a warrant alleging failure to appear for the charge of criminal damage to property. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Cedric Benjamin Gant, 28, Amelia, was arrested at 2:22 p.m. Sunday on charges of view inward and outward of window, resisting an officer by flight, driving under suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and hit and run.
--Jennifer Causey, 38, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Thursday on charges of domestic abuse battery and cruelty to a juvenile. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Danny Ray Lanceslin Jr., 31, Patterson, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Nov. 25 on charges of simple assault, disturbing the peace (language) and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
--Nomad Michael Hoots, 48, Gretna, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Saturday on two Morgan City Police Department warrants. Hoots is being held for another agency.
Bail has not been set at this time.
--Daniel Lee Bushinelle, 67, Patterson, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for violation notices for animal at large. Bail has not been set at this time.
Lanceslin was released on a $6,000 bond.
--Tyjon Alexander, 25, Franklin, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 6:43 p.m. Nov. 25 on charges of possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies and turning signal required 100 feet prior to turn.
Bail was set at $100,000.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
--Kannon D. Girouard, 19, Patin Street, Henderson, was arrested Saturday on a charge of possession of marijuana (over 14 grams) and speeding 67 mph in a 55 mph zone. Girouard was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,200.
--David E. Franklin, 64, Hunting Road, Franklin, was arrested at 7:29 p.m. Friday on a charge of reckless operation (no accident). Franklin was released on a summons.
--Donovan M. Chilton, 39, Verdunville, Franklin, was arrested at 11:05 a.m. Sunday on charges of driver’s license suspended or revoked, expired motor vehicle inspection, switched license plate and no registration. Chilton was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,351.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
--Derrick Kelly, 31, La. 182, Franklin, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. Saturday on charges of speeding, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of weapons, illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Kelly was booked, processed and held on a $25,850 bond.
--Jawan Colar, 26, Ninth Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle, illegal carrying of weapon in presence of a controlled dangerous substance, illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and threatening a public official.
--Sharnell Ruffin, 39, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, while incarcerated at the Franklin Police Department, was arrested at 12:42 p.m. Nov. 25 on warrants for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear as a witness. Ruffin was booked, processed and released on a $500 bond.
--Matthew Blanks, 44, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Nov. 25 on a charge of violation of protective order, and on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding, reckless operation of a vehicle and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Blanks was additionally arrested on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of violation of protective orders and telephone harassment. Blanks was booked processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
--Charlie Hurst, 34, Main Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Thursday on charges of speeding and careless operation. Hurst was booked, processed and released on a $523.50 bond.
--Tynell Levine, 35, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7 a.m. Friday on a the charge of remaining where forbidden. Levine was booked, processed, and held on a $500 bond.
Colar was additionally arrested on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court for failure to appear on a charge of possession of marijuana. Colar was booked, processed and held on a $31,600 bond.
--Lamarick Lemon, 21, Coulee St., Baldwin, was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes, no insurance and driver must be licensed. Lemon was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.
