Amelia man faces multiple drug charges, including heroin and fentanyl

St. Mary narcotics agents reported the June 4 arrest of an Amelia man on six drug possession charges, including for possession of heroin and fentanyl, all in distribution quantities.

Between them, deputies and Morgan City polices also reported arrests over the last week on hit-and-run charges.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Jovian Clark, 43, Amelia, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 4:35 p.m. June 4 on a warrant alleging possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a drug-free zone.

Bail was set at $1,005,000.

--Ra’Quan Ar’qua Prejean, 18, Franklin, was arrested at 4:20 a.m. June 4 on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Hope Lin Cubbedge, 40, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:46 p.m. June 4 on charges of possession of methamphetamines and stop signs and yield signs. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Cedric Sapp, 30, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:43 p.m. June 4 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft. Bail was set at $3,600.

--Kenya Ann Yeggins, 24, Jeanerette, was arrested at 6:04 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Yeggins was released on a $1,000 bond.

--Wilmer J. Jiron-Maquez, 18, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:48 p.m. Sunday on charges of reckless operation (with accident), hit and run, failure to report an accident, and unlawful sale, purchase, or possession of tobacco.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Anthony Javier Jiron-Marquez, 21, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Sunday on charges of interference with a law enforcement investigation, resisting arrest or officer and no insurance. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Mario Ceasar Sanchez-Dimas, 26, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:01 a.m. Sunday on charges of simple interfering with emergency communication and domestic abuse battery (strangulation). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Andrew Anthony Luke, 20, Patterson, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. Saturday on charges of criminal mischief (tampering with property), resisting arrest or officer, and simple criminal damage to property. Bail was set at $3,500.

--Natoya Cheryll Singleton, 34, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:28 p.m. Friday on charges of theft and entry on or remaining on premises after being forbidden. Singleton was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Terry Joseph Domangue Jr., 61, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Thursday on a charges of probation violation. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Clarence Brown Jr., 52, Thibodaux, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 5:55 p.m. Thursday on charges of window tint, possession of cocaine and driving under suspension.. Brown was released on a $6,250 bond.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Devin Hidalgo, 24, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of hit and run.

--Ammar Balwi, 30, Island Drive, Plaquemine, was arrested at 1:19 p.m. Friday as a fugitive (16th Judicial District Court).

--Jhai Robinson, 22, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of marijuana (first offense). (Released on summons.)

--Jaylen Bell, 26, Apple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:12 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia and lights required. (Released on summons.)

--Jeremy Blackburn,46, Mayon Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:48 p.m. Saturday on a charge of simple battery.

--Roy Stewart, 57, no address, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Tara Harford, 42, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested 10:54 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of a legend drug (naproxen), possession of hydrocodone, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam, possession of marijuana (first offense), taillights required and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17.

--Andrew Byers, 62, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:54 p.m. Saturday on charges of failure to appear to pay probation fee and three counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Tina Franklin, 49, Main Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:18 p.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Nakia Anderson, 25, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. Sunday on charges of hit and run, resisting an officer and child desertion.

--Georgianna Sweetser, 57, Ditch Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Thursday on charges of aggravated assault, theft (under $1,000) and disturbing the peace.

--Brandon Knight, 17, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespass.

--Wyatt Hettinger, 18, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespass.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Douglas C. Victor, 55, Dodiewood, Houston, was arrested at 4:09 a.m. Thursday on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant alleging no turn signal and driving under suspension. Victor was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $3,500.

--James A. Tarleton Jr., 31, Taft Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of resisting an officer. Tarleton is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

--Sammie L. Pigott Jr., 55, Tiffany Street, Patterson, was arrested at 5:10 a.m. Friday on charges of criminal trespass and theft. Pigott was released on a summons.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Derick Lovely, 55, Jones Street, Sioux City, Iowa, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated April 8, 2024, alleging aggravated assault. Lovely was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.

--Treyvon Burrell, 26, Al Joseph Lane, Thibodaux, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Saturday on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant alleging malfeasance in office. Burrell was booked, processed and transported to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Rusty Bordelon, 36, Sterling Road, Franklin, was arrested at 11:09 a.m. Sunday on charges of interfering with emergency communication, domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon, and domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).

Bordelon was booked, processed and held with no bond set at time of press release.

--Lysander Williams, 56, Clark Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Thursday on charges of no seat belt, three counts of stop signs and yield signs, three counts of turning movements and required signals, general speed law, reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, operating a vehicle while license is suspended, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicle, and aggravated flight from an officer. Williams was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Amber Segura, 24, Darce Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 6:42 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Segura was booked, processed and held on a $3,500 bond.

--Kevin LeBlanc, 33, Darce Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 6:42 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery (strangulation). LeBlanc was booked, processed and held on a $12,500 bond.

--Laura Newbaker, 41, Lee Charles Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. June 4 on a charge of violation of protective order (second offense). Newbaker was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Brian James, 45, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on charges of improper lane usage and operating a vehicle while license is suspended. James was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
