Top graduates: Morgan City High
Morgan City has named its three top graduates as the Class of 2025 prepares to receive diplomas at 6 p.m. Friday at the school
The top graduates are:
Sherley Desiree Perez De Leon
She is the daughter of Edvin Perez and Vivian De Leon. While at MCHS, she has been a member of Student Council, where she has served as class vice president for three years and executive vice president for her senior year.
She has also held the office of vice president in both the Foreign Language Society and the Beta Club and has participated in volleyball, soccer, and track and field.
In addition, Sherley is in gifted, talented art, talented theater, and talented music. During high school, her creative talents have been displayed in her design of shirts for Foreign Language Society and soccer. In the future, Sherley will attend Nicholls State University to major in biology-pre-medicine.
Aimi Lam
She is the daughter of Kim Huynh and Phuoc Lam. She has been a member of the Beta Club, Foreign Language Society, Student Council and Tiger Ambassadors. Aimi has served as treasurer for Foreign Language Society and freshman class president for Student Council.
She has also been recognized as a member of the ACT 30+ Club, a KWBJ Shining Star, and a Gifted and Talented Art student.
Next year, Aimi plans to attend LSU to major in Biology in hopes of going medical school.
Dung Bui
He is the son of Liên Ngoc Vu and Trúc Thanh Bùi.
In his four years at Morgan City High School, he has been a member of the Hope Squad and has participated in the MACH Math competition at Nicholls State University for two years.
After high school, Dung will attend Nicholls State University to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and then plans to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at Tulane University.
