Marijuana arrests reported across parish

Morgan City police reported six marijuana possession arrests in the last week, and St. Mary and Franklin authorities made arrests on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Brennon Skinner, 32, Grace Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:56 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension, no child restraint and possession of marijuana (first offense). (Released on summons.)

--Joey Francois, 44, Aucoin Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, no seat belt, no child restraint, driving under suspension and four counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Travell Boutte, 25, Oak Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:17 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), failure to signal and driving under suspension. (Released on summons.)

--Joshua Lewis, 39, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. Friday on charges of improper lane usage, possession of marijuana (first offense) and 12 counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Alyssa Ashmore, 35, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense) and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--James Domangue, 74, Nebraska Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and criminal mischief.

--Bobby Jones, 62, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension and improper lighting.

--Tasmika Lightfoot, 42, Patterson, was arrested at 12:29 a.m. Friday on a charge of issuing worthless checks.

--Darrell Gaskins, 34, Cypress Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. Friday on charges of domestic abuse battery (pregnant) and domestic abuse (child endangerment).

--Yvonne Priscilla, 23, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.

--Landon Acosta, 22, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at midnight Friday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Timothy Francois, 37, Idaho Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11 a.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to appear for hearing (16th Judicial District Court).

--Barbara Murray, 48, Brownell Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Saturday on a charge of allowing dogs to roam. (Released on summons.)

--Benjamin Wever, 48, Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Virgina Sanjuan-Herrera, 45, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:26 a.m. Sunday on charges of window tint violation and driving under suspension.

--Leslie Johnson, 30, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested 1:40 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. (Released on summons.)

--Casey Gilley, 42, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:43 p.m. Sunday on charges of obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia and window tint violation.

--Joshua Driskill, 32, Iowa Street, Morgan City, was arrested on 6:44 p.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Matayla Jordan, 22, Salmons Road, Welch, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. April 16 on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and as a fugitive from the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Department.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell these arrests:

--Bryalen A. Kemp, 20, Patterson, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 2:35 p.m. April 15 on a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Kemp also was named in two active warrants alleging failure to appear for criminal mischief and driver must be licensed. Bail was set at $38,041.50.

--Ronjuer Geanta Granger, 25, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. April 16 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set at this time on this charge.

--Ceddrekin Griffin, 20, Franklin, was arrested at 1:08 p.m. April 15 on a warrant alleging two counts of cruelty to a juvenile. Bail was set at $32,500.

--Natishia Wilbur Savoie, 45, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:02 a.m. April 15 on a charge of simple battery.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Terry James Rodrigue, 47, Thibodaux, was arrested at 5:17 p.m. April 15 on a warrant alleging failure to appear for the charge of monetary instrument abuse. Bail was set at $7,500.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Trey Frost, 17, La. 182, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:21 p.m. April 16 on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Frost was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

--Juvenile was arrested at 12:43 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Lani Whittington, 21, Weldon Street, New Iberia, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Whittington was booked, processed and held on a $750 bond.

--Skyla Butler, 25, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Butler was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
