More drug, more domestic arrests reported here

Morgan City police reported a pair of drug arrests this week, while St. Mary deputies made two arrests on domestic violence charges.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 74 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Ira Grow, 69, Wytchwood Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and child desertion.

--Lakeisha Rhine, 35, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday as a fugitive from the Patterson Police Department.

--Phillip Aucoin, 54, Berwick, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Gerald Jones, 50, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Monday on a charge of possession of marijuana (first offense), obstruction of justice and failure to appear for arraignment (16th Judicial District Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 125 complaints and made these arrests:

--Mary Toups Richard, 45, Franklin, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of aggravated domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Shane Eugene Richard, 30, Franklin, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic abuse battery and violation of protective orders. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Shawn Case Lovell Sr., 47, Berwick, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Monday on a charge of theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Taj Kenneth Closson, 18, Franklin, was arrested at 10:47 p.m. Monday on charges of extortion, cyberstalking-electronic mail, and telephone calls-harassment. Bail has not been set

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrest:

--Kimiya M. Joseph, 31, Apple Street, Patterson, was arrested at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday on charges of no driver’s license, no insurance and failure to appear. Joseph is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $860. Joseph was arrested by Morgan City police on a Patterson PD warrant.

--Lekiesha M. Rhine, 35, Sucre Circle, Abbeville, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday on charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple battery and simple criminal damage to property. Rhine is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 26 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Alex Edwards, 32, James Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Monday on warrants for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of stop signs and yield signs, driver must be licensed, and speeding. Edwards was booked, processed and released on an $811 bond.

--Matthew Robinson, 54, Augustine Maze Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Monday on a warrant dated March 14 alleging telephone harassment, and on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of stop signs and yield signs and no insurance. Robinson was booked, processed and held on a $1,773 bond.

--Bailey Peters, 43, Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday on charges of illegal possession of stolen things and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. Peters was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
