Two from Franklin among 3 arrested in Assumption

Two Franklin residents were among three people arrested in Assumption Parish on charges that included obstruction and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
--Jason Ralph Procell, Jr., 29, Greenleaves Drive, Denham Springs, was arrested Tuesday on charges of obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, switched license plate and failure to dim headlights, and as a fugitive from West Feliciana and East Baton Rouge parishes.
--Nikki Nicole Caruso, 35, Oneil Chube Street, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday on charges of obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.
--Joseph J. Thibodeaux, 26, Alpha Street, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of resisting an officer.
The charges arise from a traffic stop on La. 398 near Labadieville on Tuesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Procell, and the passenger now identified as Caruso, and proceeded to interview both subjects.
Deputies then interviewed another occupant, now identified as Thibodeaux, 26. As deputies began to interact with Thibodeaux, he began to resist those efforts.
Deputies seized assorted drug paraphernalia during the investigation.
Procell, Caruso and Thibodeaux were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending bond hearings.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Ireaf Lee Mitchell, 20, Gen. Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested 3:48 a.m. Tuesday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jontea Bourgeois, 35, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of allowing dogs to roam. (Released on summons.)
--Nyla Kay Davis, 24, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested on 9:27 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana and improper display of license plate. (Released on summons.)
--Dean Michael Aucoin, 40, Louisa Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of violation of a protective order.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 12 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Kurt Chapman, 37, Magnolia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of stop signs, driving under suspension, switched license plate and no insurance. Chapman was booked, processed and released on a $923 bond.
--Ronald Trahan, 20, La. 182, Franklin, was arrested at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday on charges of speeding and careless operation. Trahan was booked, processed and released on a $523.50 bond.
