Morgan City, Franklin police report drug arrests

Morgan City and Franklin police reported arrests this week on drug possession charges.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Alyssa Louis Ashmore, 34, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court), failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Katherine Gaurisco Thompson, 29, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of disturbing the peace. (Released on summons.)
--John Raymond Ross, 35, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested 11:01 a.m. Wednesday on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.
--Lamonta L. Thomas, 27, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Lloyjasia Humphrey, 28, Canary Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
Berwick
Chief David Leonard Sr. reported these arrests:
--Jorge Saenz, 29, Amelia, was arrested at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday on charges of hit and run and unlawful possession of fraudulent documents.
About 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, the Berwick Police Department received a call of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 90 and Thorguson Drive. It was learned that the driver of one of the vehicles fled on foot.
A description of the subject was given, and officers began searching for the subject. After some time, the subject was located in the wooded area. He was taken into custody where he was found to be in possession of fraudulent identification documents.
Saenz was transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.
--Kane Dupre, 19, Bourg, was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday on charges of speeding 79 mph in a 60 mph zone and driving under suspension.
About 5:09 p.m. Wednesday a vehicle was observed speeding 79 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. 90. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver and passenger were observed switching seating positions.
Officers made contact with Dupre and learned that his driver’s license was suspended. Dupre was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and made these arrests:
--Christopher Michael Daigle, 36, Berwick, was arrested on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of destroying legal crab traps or removing contents and using crab traps without required markings. Daigle was released on a $1,500 bond
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to six complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Charles Boudreaux, 59, La. 182, Franklin, was arrested at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday on charges of speeding, reckless operation of a vehicle and expired motor vehicle inspection sticker. Boudreaux was booked, processed and held on a $1,143.50 bond.
--Fallon Touchet, 42, Luke Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:33 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant dated Dec. 2, 2022, alleging possession of drug paraphernalia. Touchet was additionally arrested on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Touchet was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
