Bayou L'Ourse resident arrested on meth distribution charge

Assumption deputies reported the arrest of a Bayou L’Ourse resident on a methamphetamine distribution charge, while Morgan City police arrested a Berwick resident on charges that include meth possession.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Madison Noel Cobb, 20, La. 663, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Monday on a felony charge of distribution of methamphetamine.

The Sheriff’s Office has been conducting an narcotics investigation in Assumption Parish and as a result, determined that Cobb was trafficking in illegal narcotics.

Agents developed probable cause establishing that Cobb was distributing methamphetamine.

On Monday, Cobb was arrested in Bayou L’Ourse and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center in lieu of bond set at $12,500.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Devin R. Toups, 25, Oregon Street, Berwick, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Tuesday on charges of roadway laned for traffic, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Subutex and possession of a legend drug (sildenafil citrate).

--Shakettia N. Skinner, 33, Arizona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:16 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of direct contempt of court.

--Myles A. Morgan, 36, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of remaining after forbidden.

--Scarlett M. Burart, 43, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:49 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace (drunkenness) and remaining where forbidden.

--Eldora Carmouche, 24, East Vermilion, Lafayette, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday on charges of theft (under $1,000) and simple battery.

--Joseph R. Martinez, 34, Grandwood, Patterson, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of theft (under $1,000) and on a warrant alleging failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Stephanie M. Manjarrez, 30, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of simple burglary.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 34 complaints and made these arrests:

--Kaci Gail Brown, 53, Patterson, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Brown was released on a $1,500 bond.

--Kade Paul Simon, 31, Patterson, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Simon was released on a $1,500 bond.

--Paris Nicole Bias, 33, Lafayette, was arrested at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Clayton Joseph Johnson, 37, Franklin, was arrested at 3:05 a.m. Thursday on a charges of one-way roadways and rotary traffic islands and driving while intoxicated. Johnson was released on a $2,750 bond.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to four complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Ray Granger, 37, Caffery Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. on a warrant dated March 29 alleging simple battery and a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on acharge of leash law. Granger was booked, processed and held on a $2,858 bond.
