Woman arrested, man sought in MC drug investigation

Morgan City police arrested a woman and are looking for a second suspect after a search at a Railroad Avenue home turned up cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana and cash, the Police Department said
Andrea Bridget Vaughn, 31, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a drug-free zone and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of juveniles.
Kevin Clark has been named in warrants alleging possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, transactions involving the proceeds of drug offenses, illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of juveniles and violation of a drug-free zone.
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division began an investigation over the last several weeks into the illicit sales of illegal narcotics out of a residence located on Railroad Avenue, the Police Department said.
According to reports, Clark was identified as the culprit allegedly involved in the illicit sales.
On Tuesday, investigators, with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on the residence where Vaughn was located along with three small children. Clark had just left the residence.
A search of the residence produced a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency, along with items used in the manufacturing of crack cocaine, police said.
Over $2,000 was located, was consistent with a street-level dealer and believed to be obtained through illicit sales. Evidence was uncovered during the investigation that linked the items located to Clark, police said.
Reports indicate that additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located that was allegedly linked to Vaughn.
The area where the residence is located is within a drug-free zone.
Vaughn was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail, where she now awaits court proceedings.
