Deputies make five arrests on battery charges

St. Mary deputies made five arrests since Thursday on battery charges and two more alleging burglary.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that between Thursday and Monday, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to 165 complaints and made these arrests:
--Eric Spencer Gaskins, 53, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. Gaskins continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Jarmontay Ahmond Roberson, 30, Franklin, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. Roberson continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Brad Devonce Vincent, 45, Franklin, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. Vincent continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Joaquima Javon Brown, 29, Franklin, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. Brown continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Tyson Miguel Joubert, 42, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. May 8 on a probation violation. Joubert was released on a $1,000 bond.
--Tyjuandre Darrell Harris, 27, Baldwin, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. May 8 on a charge of attempted possession with intent to distribute marijuana and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $7,500.
--Eric Gene Watson Jr., 39, Patterson, was arrested at 6:51 p.m. May 8 on charges of simple burglary and criminal trespass. Bail was set at $30,000.
--Alex Galindo, 19, Gray, was arrested at 6:53 p.m. May 8 by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, transactions involving drug offenses, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone), failure to signal lane change, and view outward or inward of window.
Bail was set at $250,000.
--Ronnell Williams, 24, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:58 a.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set at $200,000.
--Traci Fitch Whitehurst, 42, Berwick, was arrested at 7:16 a.m. Friday on a charge of battery of a battery of a correctional officer and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $10,000.
--Cedric Dwayne Sapp, 29, Amelia, was arrested at 9:49 a.m. Friday on charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and simple burglary. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Graceland Taesha Gable, 36, Franklin, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Friday on a felony probation violation. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Barry Wayne Burney Jr., 62, Franklin, was arrested at 2:33 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated and open container. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Calvin Smith Singleton, 41, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Saturday on two Morgan City Police Department warrants alleging failure to appear on the charges of criminal damage to property and driving while intoxicated (child endangerment law). Bail was set at $15,000.
--Bryalen Anthony Kemp, 19, Patterson, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Sunday on a charge of criminal mischief (false report). Kemp was released on a $500 bond.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 164 calls for service over the last 96-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Antoine Blair Collins, 38, Utah St. Morgan City, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Friday as a fugitive from the Baton Rouge Police Department.
--Thomas Carter Provost Myers, 21, Elk Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of marijuana (released on summons).
--Pedro Damian Ruiz Lopez, 21, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of fraudulent documents, resisting an officer and loud music.
--Jada Cook, 24, Oak Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (16th Judicial District Court).
--Kedesha Nicole Scott, 29, Halsey Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. Thursday as a fugitive from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
--Kristie Lynn Blanchard, 46, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Friday on charges of driving under suspension, improper lane usage, resisting an officer and two counts of failure to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
Berwick
Chief David S. Leonard reported this arrest:
--Devin Hidalgo, 22, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. Sunday on a charge of hit and run.
About 7:50 p.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department received a call from the Morgan City Police Department in reference to one of their officers being on a traffic stop with a vehicle that had just been involved in a crash in Berwick.
Officers responded and met with officers of the Morgan City Police Department. It was learned that Hidalgo had left the scene of a crash that occurred in Berwick, and a complaint was received in Morgan City about his reckless driving.
Officers spoke with Hidalgo, who admitted to being involved in the crash and leaving the scene. Hidalgo was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
--David Bonner, 57, Cypress Lane, Patterson, was arrested Friday on charges of in insurance, no registration and switched license plate.
--Diego M. Cruz, 24, East Syls, Morgan City, was arrested Saturday on charges of no driver’s license, improper lane usage and reckless operation.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
--Lasheika Harris, 48, Tabor Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated April 13 alleging seven counts of theft. Harris was additionally arrested on the charge of theft. Harris was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Joseph Alcina, 33, South Clausen Road, Franklin, was arrested at 4:03 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended. Alcina was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
--Dennis Delasbour, 50, Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:37 a.m. Saturday on charges of criminal trespassing and criminal mischief. Delasbour was additionally arrested on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of marijuana. Delasbour was booked, processed and held on a $1,933 bond.
--Dejuan Rudolph, 38, 11th Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:13 p.m. Thursday on warrants for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Rudolph was booked, processed and held on a $261,614.24 bond.
