Morgan City police report arrests on domestic abuse, hit-and-run charges

Morgan City police reported arrests over the weekend on charges of domestic abuse battery with a pregnant victim and hit and run.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 106 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Martin Hernandez, 26, Halsey Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested at 5:15 a.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse battery (pregnant).

--Donna M. Aucoin, 52, Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested a 7:13 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging hit and run.

--Lettia S. Butler, 48, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4 p.m. Friday on a charge of allowing dogs to roam and on Saturday on a warrant alleging two counts of allowing dogs to roam.
--James Senegal, 37, Paris Street, Opelousas, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Friday on a charge of red light violation, no driver's license, driving under suspension, no insurance and resisting an officer (false information).

--Amilcar Lopez-Sanchez, 32, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested on at 10:50 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Drake C. Miller, 22, Jennifer Jean Drive, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 2:59 a.m. Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden.

--Omar D. Pacheco-Espinoza, 22, Chirpi Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:33 a.m. Monday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), driving under suspension and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 16 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Jaydon Richard, 19, Lee Charles Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:37 a.m. Friday on charges of remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace (language). Richard was booked, processed and held on a $1,500 bond.

--Kendrick Madison, 46, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:31 p.m. Friday on a charge of violation of protective orders. Madison was additionally arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Madison was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Joseph Leonard, 44, Joseph Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Friday on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace (intoxication). Leonard was booked, processed and held on a $3,500 bond.

--Lakeysha Martin, 48, Mae Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated Jan. 28 alleging disturbing the peace (language), resisting an officer and simple assault. Martin was booked, processed and released on a $4,500 bond.

--John Breaux, 76, of Oakdale Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery. Breaux was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

--Joseph Nedd, 58, Tabor Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Sunday on a warrant dated Jan. 24 alleging simple battery. Nedd was booked, processed and held on a $2,500 bond.

Chitimacha

Chief B.C. Trahan reported this arrest:

--Rusty Moore, 38, Chitimacha Loop, Charenton; was arrested Jan. 29 on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule III drugs, possession of legend drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (drug-free zone). He was transported to the St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
