CHARLES LEGARDE CLEMENTS

Charles Legarde Clements, born in New Orleans, LA on February 24, 1935, passed away at his residence in Youngsville, LA on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Enid Guidry Clements; one brother, Ervin Clements and his wife, Frances of Spring, TX; children, Elaine Clement of St. Martinville, and of Youngsville, Charles (Chuck) Clements, Jr. and his wife, Cathy, Marian Clements Mattison and Chris Clements. Mr. Clements was also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Flavia Dickinson Clements; brother, Philip Clements; daughter, Claire Clements; and son-in-law, John Mattison.
Charlie’s childhood home was Morgan City. His employment by AT&T for thirty-seven years located the family in many towns in south Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Clements’ name to Hospice of Acadiana (hospiceacadiana.com).
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Clements family to the nurses, staff, and doctors of Hospice of Acadiana and to the private caregivers for the kindness and compassionate care given to Charlie and his family during their time of need.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
