2 more DWI arrests made by deputies

A recent string of alcohol-related arrests continues with two DWI charges, one on a warrant, filed by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported these arrests:
—Yashira Marie Birrielcruz, 35, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:42 p.m. Monday on charges of driving on roadway laned for traffic and driving while intoxicated. Birrielcruz was released on a $2,750 bond.
—Jose Luis Flores, 61, Amelia, was arrested at 4:39 a.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse (child endangerment law). Flores also was named in a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. No bail has been set.
Kendell James Williams, 38, Franklin, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Williams was released on a $1,000 bond.
—Blake Jacoby Smith, 30, Patterson, was arrested at 4:23 p.m. Monday on three warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of resisting an officer, possession of marijuana, flight from an officer and failure to give required signal.
No bail has been set.
—Corey J. Hilliard, 34, Patterson, was at 9:37 a.m. Monday on a warrant alleging criminal trespass and simple battery. Hilliard was released on a $3,000 bond.
—Quentin Jamar’r Cooper, 31, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:11 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding; following too closely; operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled; and no seat belt.
Bail has not been set.
—Cecilia Bonilla, 32, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. Tuesday on charges of brake lights required, no insurance, driver must be licensed, switched or stolen license plate, and failure to secure registration.
Bonilla was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Denise Colbert Bourda, 54, Baldwin, was arrested at 10:42 a.m. Friday on two counts of identity theft. No bail has been set.
—Amber Lee O’Connor, 41, Patterson, was arrested at 10:28 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. O’Connor was released on a $12,000 bond.
—Newton Joseph Gaudet, 73, Amelia, LA, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Friday on a charge of cruelty to animals. Gaudet was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Cassy Bursey, 38, Wagener, South Carolina, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. Friday on charges of driving under suspension and failure to dim headlights. Bursey was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—James Brumfield, 59, Houma, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Sunday on charges of reckless operation (no accident) and driving under suspension. Brumfield was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
Drew Ryan Baugher, 32, Patterson, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under suspension. Baugher was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Terri Helman, 40, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:08 p.m. Sunday on a charge of switched or stolen license plate e and no insurance. Helman was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.
—Kayla Jackson, 29, Baldwin, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under suspension. Jackson was released on a summons to appear Feb. 3.

Morgan City:
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 53 calls for service within the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
—Louis Ross, 41, Tuts Court Gibson, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and driving under suspension, and on a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant alleging failure to appear for arraignment.
—David Lee Morris Jr., 32, Bryan Street, Houma, was arrested at 9:57 p.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).
—Tyler Pitre, 21, Louis Street, Larose, was arrested 7:51 a.m. Monday on a charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
—Nathaniel Albert Rollins, 25, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Monday on a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant alleging four counts failure to appear to pay fine.

Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:
—Chadwick M. Landry, 48, La. 662, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of failure to dim headlights, flight from an officer, driving under suspension and registration violation.
—Christina Lynn Aucoin, 35, Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
The charges resulted from a traffic incident on La. 182 near Amelia.
An I.C.E. unit-assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit an equipment violation and attempted to stop the vehicle. The violator continued on for over a mile before stopping.
The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Landry. The deputy conducted an interview then conducted an interview of the passenger, now identified as Aucoin. After interviewing both the driver and passenger, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy proceeded to conduct a pat-down search of Landry in the interest of safety. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.
The passenger then began shaking her outer clothing, at which time a packet of suspected methamphetamine fell from within. At this time, Aucoin was arrested.
They were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
