UPDATED WITH REGIONAL ARRESTS: Two people accused of passing counterfeit money in Morgan City

Two people were arrested Tuesday and accused of trying to pass counterfeit money at Morgan City businesses, police reports say.
Two other people were arrested by Morgan City officers on drug and other charges after a complaint about a threat against a government agency.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 48-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 68 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Kyle Logan, 34, East Julius Carter Road, Woodville, Mississippi, was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday on charges of three counts of monetary instrument abuse, three counts of theft under $1,000 and obstruction of justice (evidence tampering).
—Lisa Ann Chaisson, 56, Rosemary Avenue, Chauvin, was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday on charges of monetary instrument abuse, attempted theft under $1,000 and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers were called to a local business about receiving counterfeit money. They learned Logan and Chaisson entered the business attempting to make purchases with counterfeit money.
Logan was able to make a purchase with the counterfeit money and leave the store. A short time later, Chaisson entered the store and attempted to make purchases with counterfeit money, but the employee observed the $100 to be counterfeit.
Both Logan and Chaisson left the store before officers arrived. During their investigation, the Morgan City Police Department received a second complaint of Logan and Chaisson attempting to pass counterfeit money.
Officers arrived at the second business and detained Logan and Chaisson. Logan discarded counterfeit money he had in his possession on seeing officers arriving on the scene. Officers also located suspected drug paraphernalia in Chaisson’s possession. Both Logan and Chaisson were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Officers investigating this complaint were able to assist the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office with identifying Logan as a suspect passing counterfeit money at an Amelia business. The officer was able to discover evidence in Logan and Chaisson’s possession of passing counterfeit money in other jurisdictions that may lead to further charges.
—Chad Williams, 32, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:39 a.m. Wednesday on charges of resisting an officer, possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17 and violation of controlled dangerous substance laws (drug-free zone), and on a warrant alleging terrorizing and a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for two counts of failure to appear.
—Cassandra Renee Duval, 32, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17, and violation of controlled dangerous substance laws (drug-free zone).
On Tuesday, officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to a complaint of an individual making threats to a government agency.
During the investigation, Williams was identified as a suspect.
The investigating officer obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On Wednesday, officers and investigators with the Morgan City Police Department located Williams at his residence on Chennault Street. While they attempted to arrest Williams, he began to pull away from arresting officers and discard suspected drug paraphernalia in a nearby garbage can.
Officers were able to secure Williams in handcuffs and place him under arrest.
During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence. Officers located Duval and a child under 17 at the residence. 
During the search of the home, officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Duval was placed under arrest. Williams and Duval were transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
—Brock Elix Williams, 41, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).
—Ashley M. Broussard, 34, Three B’s Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday on charges of disturbing the peace and obscenity.
Officers were called to Federal Avenue for a disturbance.
They came into contact with Ashley Broussard. Officers learned from witnesses that Broussard had exposed herself to witnesses and caused a disturbance. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and made these arrests:
—Alton Fontenot, 51, Gibson, was arrested at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday on charges of failure to signal lane change, improper lane usage, driving under suspension, possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of Schedule II drug and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug.
Bail was set at $8,500.
—Jessica Fletcher, 32, Montegut, was arrested at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail has been set.
—Donna Marie Comeaux, 61, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of Schedule II drugs.
No bail has been set.  
Female juvenile, 12, Morgan City, was arrested at 11 p.m. Wednesday as a runaway juvenile. The girl was released to a guardian pending juvenile court action.
—Shannon Folse, 30, Houma, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of reckless operation (no accident).  Folse was released on a summons to appear Sept. 1.
—Tra Acosta, 24, Morgan City, was arrested 11:48 p.m. Wednesday on charges of reckless operation (no accident) and driving under suspension.  Acosta was released on a summons Sept. 1.
—Clarence Darby, 39, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:33 a.m. Thursday on charges of license plate required, open container and possession of marijuana. 
Darby was released on a summons to appear Sept. 1.
—Amanda Rudolph, 33, Baldwin, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Thursday for driver must be licensed, possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule I drugs, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. 
Rudolph was released on a summons to appear Sept. 1.
—Margen Reaux, 28, New Iberia, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana.  Reaux was released on a summons to appear Sept. 1.
—Michael McIntyre, 41, Franklin, was arrested on at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday by the Narcotics Section on charges of no turn signal, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute Suboxen, possession of alprazolam, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor. 
No bail has been set.
—Amanda LaRive, 35, Franklin, was arrested 5:12 p.m. Wednesday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession of LSD, possession of heroin, possession of MDMA, possession of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam and possession of drug paraphernalia. 
No bail has been set.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Police Department responded to 13 complaints over the past 24 hours and made these arrests:
 —Dwan Williams, 36, Plantation Teche Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of possession of stolen things and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. Williams was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
—David Fine, 33, Second Street, Franklin, was arrested at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday on a Chitimacha Tribal Police Department warrant alleging theft and two warrants for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of issuing worthless checks and remaining where forbidden.
Fine was booked, processed, and transported to the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department.

St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Jadette Lawrence, 31, Martin Luther King, Eunice, was arrested Wednesday on a hold for the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
—Calista Winfrey, 22, was arrested Wednesday on a hold for the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
