CCHS freshman makes All-District first team

The Central Catholic girls basketball team had one first-team All-District 8-1A selection.
Freshman Laurielle Bias was named to the first team. She had per-game averages of 17.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 3.3 steals.
The Lady Eagles had two second-team selections, eighth-grader Jade Oliney and sophomore Charlotte Callais. Oliney had per-game averages of 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 4.6 steals. Callais recorded per-game averages of 11.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals.
Bias also was named to the district’s All-Defensive Team.
The Lady Eagles had three honorable mention selections: Bri’Yannah Johnson, Rylie Jeau Theriot and Angel Geason.
Highland Baptist swept the individual honors as Marin Barras was named Most Valuable Player, and Carol Sensley was the Coach of the Year.
On the all-academic team, Central Catholic had six selections: Bias, Oliney, Callais, Johnson, Geason and Theriot.
