Man, 70, faces drug charge
Morgan City police arrested a 70-year-old man Wednesday on a crack cocaine charge, Chief James F. Blair re-ported.
—Harold Turner, 70, Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of cocaine.
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics contacted Turner in the area of Fourth Street. Detectives were speaking with Turner when they observed him throw something on the ground. Detectives detained Turner and recovered two suspected rocks of crack cocaine.
Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith reported this arrest:
—Joseph Cornelius Young III, 51, Hickory Street, Patterson, was arrested at 10:58 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple criminal damage to property, theft and battery-simple.
Bail was set at $4,000.
—Jaiquan L. Hart, 26, Florence Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:49 p.m. for violation of protective orders. Hart was released on a $2,500 bond.
