$10 million mood swing: Port gets mixed messages from the feds

To work at the Port of Morgan City is to live with the ebb and flow and to be at the mercy of forces too big to control. And that’s just the federal budget system. The river can be unpredictable, too. Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District officials learned Monday that the Trump administration’s proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning in September includes $4.4 million for operation and maintenance at the port.
