Louisiana Travel Association Conference

After the Louisiana Travel Association Conference at Cypress Bayou Casino, Franklin Mayor Eugene Foulcard along with Public Relations Director Ed “Tiger” Verdin and City Inspector Glenn Todd had the opportunity to have a private meeting with Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser to discuss the ongoing revitalization happening in Franklin, including the Bicentennial celebrations every month in 2020. They also discussed the many ongoing projects the city has planned in the near future and much more. Nungesser was presented a commemorative Bicentennial lapel pin and an “I Believe in Franklin” t-shirt and he vowed his support to the City of Franklin. Below, also during the conference, Chitimacha basket maker John Darden was on hand demonstrating the ages-old art of split river cane basketry for which the tribe is globally renowned.
