Official warns about spiraling flood insurance rates

On the night when Morgan City government department heads received thanks for their work during Tropical Storm Barry, the City Council heard a warning about how much protecting homes and businesses from disaster may soon cost. The warning came Tuesday night from Lee Dragna, a local business owner and chairman of the St. Mary Consolidated Gravity Drainage No. 2 Board of Commissioners. The alert was about the cost of coverage under the National Flooding Insurance Program.
