Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show has been canceled

Organizers of the Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show have canceled the event set for this weekend.
The threat of severe and unpredictable weather Friday and Saturday prompted the cancellation, director Roger Stouff said.
“It’s not just a matter of having boats at a show,” Stouff said, “we have people from across the southeast that join us each year. Their safety in traveling and towing classic wooden vessels through what forecasters are calling a serious, severe storm system is our first priority.”
The Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival is still slated to go on Friday and Saturday.
