October continued a four-month streak of decreasing jobless rates in St. Mary Parish. The rate has dropped 1.8 percentage points since June.
The parish unemployment rate dropped to 6.2 percent in October from 6.6 percent in September, according to the latest report from the Louisiana Workforce Commission. All statistics listed are not seasonally adjusted.
August’s unemployment rate was 7.2 percent, down from 7.9 percent in July and 8 percent in June.
