(Updated) Driver charged with DUI in single-vehicle crash

On Monday afternoon, St. Mary Parish sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash with minor injuries on La. 182 near Patterson, Sheriff's Spokesman David Spencer said. The driver, Amanda Soudelier, 41, of Clarke Road in Bayou Vista, was charged with improper lane usage and driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a pickup truck turned on its side in the roadside ditch. Deputies made contact with the driver, Soudelier. Through the investigation, Soudelier showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, a release said. Soudelier was transported to the hospital to have a blood sample collected. Her bail was set at $5,250. (The Daily Review/Zachary Fitzgerald)
