Teen caught with marijuana in Bayou L’Ourse
A Bayou Vista teen was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after authorities made a traffic stop in Bayou L’Ourse, Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said in a news release.
—Brennan Gaige Giandelone, 18, of Pluto Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At about 4 p.m. Tuesday, an Assumption Parish patrol deputy initiated a stop in Bayou L’Ourse on the vehicle for a traffic violation.
Narcotics agents arrived on scene and along with the deputy, proceeded to interview the three occupants of the vehicle. Deputies noted a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle, Falcon said. Deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle.
Agents retrieved a back pack from the front right passenger compartment. Upon further investigation, a quantity of cash was seized as well as drug paraphernalia, Falcon said.
Giandelone acknowledged that he was in possession of marijuana, Falcon said. During a pat down search, a quantity of marijuana was recovered from Giandelone, Falcon said. Giandelone was arrested and jailed pending a bail hearing.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported that officers responded to 46 calls and reported the following arrests:
—Leroy J. Bailey, 32, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with domestic abuse battery and criminal damage to property.
Bailey was located and arrested in the area of Belanger Street on warrants. The warrants stem from a June 23 investigation when officers responded to the area of Front Street in regard to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Bailey was identified as one of the parties involved, Blair said.
Bailey allegedly struck the victim during an altercation. Property of the victim was also allegedly damaged. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Bailey’s arrest. Bailey was jailed.
—Nathaniel L. Wicks, 20, of 79 Pines Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with probation violation. Wicks was located and arrested at the police department on a city court warrant. Wicks was jailed.
—Patricia P. St. Martin, 56, of Cayce Street in Franklin, was arrested at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and improper turning.
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Avenue negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated when St. Martin was identified as the driver. St. Martin was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, Blair said. St. Martin was jailed.
—Paizley E. Gros, 22, of Landry Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for three counts of failure to appear for trial. Gros was located and arrested at the police department on a city court warrant. Gros was jailed.
—Tara Oubre, 28, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging her with theft less than $1,000.
Oubre was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Avenue on a warrant. The warrant stems from a July 10 investigation when officers responded to a theft. Oubre allegedly took money totaling $904.99 from the victim. The investigation continued when a warrant was prepared for Oubre’s arrest. Oubre was jailed.
—Leroy J. Bailey, 32, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with criminal damage to property.
Bailey was located and arrested in the area of Belanger Street on an active arrest warrant held by Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from a June 20 investigation when officers responded to the area of Louisa Street in regard to a damage-to-property complaint.
Officers arrived when Bailey was identified as allegedly damaging property belonging to the victim. The investigation continued when a warrant was prepared for Bailey’s arrest. Bailey was jailed.
—Trinity Harris, 19, of Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging her with criminal trespassing.
Harris was located and arrested at the police department on a warrant. The warrant stems from a June 21 investigation when officers responded to the area of Keith Street in regard to a trespassing complaint. Officers arrived when Harris was identified as allegedly trespassing on the property of the victim after being told not to return. The investigation continued, and a warrant was prepared for Harris’ arrest. Harris was jailed.
—Gregory S. McGlory, 31, of Malapart Road in Lafayette, was arrested at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with two counts of failure to appear for arraignment. McGlory was located and arrested at the police department on a city court warrant. McGlory was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported that deputies responded to 42 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Shane Daigle, 48, of Clark Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of leash law violation. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to an animal complaint on Carol Road. The deputy made contact with Daigle and found evidence that his dog was roaming the neighborhood without a leash. Daigle was released on a summons to appear in court Oct. 5.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Trent Theriot Jr., 22, of La. 1 in Raceland, was arrested at 3:34 a.m. Wednesday on charges of hit-and-run and careless operation of a motor vehicle with a crash. Theriot posted $1,500 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Janis Merritt reported the following arrest:
—Kevon Kirtrell Favors, 19, of Frontage Road in Franklin, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession of marijuana first offense. Bail was set at $2,000.
