Nearly $1 million of road work is slated to start within the next month on roads throughout Morgan City.
St. Mary Parish President David Hanagriff presented $900,000 in funds for road work to the Morgan City Council during Tuesday’s council meeting.
Parish officials are trying to improve infrastructure throughout the parish and have committed to issue $20 million in bonds over the next two years for overlay of existing roads and construction of new roads. The parish hasn’t issued bonds for road work in almost 18 years, Hanagriff said.
