Arrest Reports 6-28-18

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrest:
Robert Dugas, 45, of 606 Sycamore St., Franklin, was arrested Monday at 2:10 p.m. on the charge of driving under suspension.
A deputy patrolling the Franklin area responded to a reckless driver complaint and observed the suspect vehicle swerve in and out of traffic. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Dugas. The deputy learned that Dugas was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Dugas was released on a summons.
Antoine Jones, 28, of 1918 Monnot Road, Jeanerette, was arrested Tuesday at 8:06 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and a warrant for failure to appear on charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.
Deputies in the area of Baldwin, along with officers of the Baldwin Police Department, made contact with Jones at a residence in Baldwin. They learned that Jones held active warrants for his arrest. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Christa Matthews, 29, of 7712 La. 182, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:07 p.m. on the charge of interfering with a law enforcement investigation.
Warren Hines Jr., 44, of 102 Fournier St., Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:07 p.m. on charges of resisting an officer with force, battery on a police officer, possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicles and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
Matthew Blanks, 36, of 813 Iberia St., Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:07 p.m. on charges of resisting an officer, hit and run, possession of Schedule II drugs Suboxone, open container, a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of possession of marijuana, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of possession of Schedule II cocaine, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of possession of Schedule II crack cocaine, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of resisting an officer, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of resisting an officer with force or violence, a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of improper lane usage and a Berwick Police Department warrant for the charge of obstruction of justice.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Section deputies and Narcotics Section detectives conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on La. 182 in Verdunville. During the course of the stop, the vehicle struck a residence. Blanks and Hines fled from the vehicle and were apprehended after a foot chase. Deputies observed Blanks throw something while fleeing from the vehicle, later learned to be Suboxone. While Hines was being detained, he struck a deputy. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located open alcoholic beverages and learned that they belonged to Hines and Blanks. It was also learned that both Hines and Blanks held active warrants for their arrests.
During the course of the investigation, Matthews was advised to leave the area after making attempts to interfere with the investigation but did not. Matthews, Hines, and Blanks were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Matthews was released on recognizance. No bail is set for Hines. No bail is set for Blanks.
Randolph Joseph, 26, of 163 Roy Lane, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 10:27 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of domestic abuse battery.
Deputies made contact with Joseph on Roy Lane. The warrant stemmed from a domestic abuse incident that occurred on May 17, where deputies found evidence that Joseph struck the victim. Joseph was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Joseph was released on a $2,500 bond.
Shayla Carter, 24, of 731 Martin Luther King Drive, Baldwin, was arrested Wednesday at 1:14 a.m. on charges of possession of Schedule I marijuana and running a red light.
A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Carter. The deputy could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a bag of marijuana. Carter was released on a summons.
Alexandro Munoz, 33, of 16202 Summer Dawn Lane, Houston, Texas was arrested Wednesday at 2:03 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of speeding and operating a vehicle with improper stop lamps.
A deputy running radar on US 90, in the area of Morgan City, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Munoz. The deputy found evidence that Munoz had an active warrant for his arrest. Munoz was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Munoz was released on a $375 bond.
Kevin Clark, 36, of 302 Third St., Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday at 3:46 p.m. on charges of resisting an officer with flight, resisting an officer with false information and a warrant for possession of Schedule II crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I MDMA, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of controlled dangerous substance law drug-free zone.
Narcotics Section detectives, with assistance from the Morgan City Police Department, made contact with Clark near Brownell Homes in Morgan City. Clark attempted to provide false information and fled from officers. Clark was apprehended after a short foot chase. The warrant stemmed from an investigation where detectives found evidence that Clark was in possession of crack cocaine, MDMA, and drug paraphernalia in a drug-free zone. Clark was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Harvey Trahan, 44, of 1174 Bayou Plaquemine, Rayne, was arrested Wednesday at 10:04 a.m. on charges of hit and run, reckless operation with an accident and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding.
Deputies initially responded to the area of Patterson for a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a sign. Through the investigation, deputies located a vehicle matching the given description at a business in Morgan City. Deputies made contact with the driver, Trahan. Deputies found evidence that the vehicle Trahan was operating was involved in a crash. Deputies also learned that Trahan held an active warrant for his arrest. Trahan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $2,000.
Elijah Ross, 70, of 170 Vega Court, Gibson, was arrested Wednesday at 12:31 p.m. on the charge of theft.
A deputy responded to a theft complaint at a business in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that the suspect was exiting the store. The deputy made contact with Ross and found evidence that he removed several items from the store. The items were returned and Ross was released on a summons.
Blaine Scully Jr., 25, of 122 Cypress St., Belle River, was arrested Wednesday at 1:43 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of reckless operation of a vehicle.
Scully was transported from the Assumption Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $13,807.
Shawn Boudreaux, 39, of 179 Martin Road, Centerville, was arrested Wednesday at 5:26 p.m. on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by language.
Deputies patrolling Centerville responded to a disturbance on Martin Road. Deputies found evidence that Boudreaux became irate with the victims and destroyed items inside the residence. While making contact with deputies, Boudreaux yelled profanities and fled from the area. Deputies apprehended Boudreaux after a short foot chase. Boudreaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $3,000.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
Gaius Austin, 30, of Prairie Road, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 3:05 p.m. on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended and failure to stop at a stop sign. Austin was booked, processed, and released on a $500 bond.
