Morey Park improvements get green light

PATTERSON — The city moved closer Tuesday to having a new version of an old park by fall. The city council voted to accept a bid for Phase I of the Morey Park improvements, and kicked in enough from an escrow account fed by casino tax revenue to add some extra touches. Phase I, which Mayor Rodney Grogan said should be done in time for the Fall Fest in October, will include a small pavilion, the first part of a walking track and a kayak launch on the Atchafalaya River.
