Police Reports 1-25-18

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Lunden Toussaint, 18, of Fifth Street, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 8:28 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of armed robbery. Toussaint was additionally charged with resisting an officer, possession of Schedule I narcotic marijuana with the intent to distribute, and introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
Officers located Toussaint and knew of a warrant for his arrest. Upon making contact with Toussaint, he allegedly ran from officers. During booking, officers could allegedly smell a heavy odor of illegal narcotics coming from Toussaint’s person and located the narcotics. Toussaint was booked, processed, and held on a $105,000 bond.
Michelle Damron, 36, of Cedar Street, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 1:29 p.m. on the charge of domestic abuse battery. Damron was booked, processed, and held on a $2,500 bond.
Travis Walters, 34, of Eleventh Street, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 5:03 p.m. on the charge of obscenity in a public library. Walters was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrests:
Donna Reed, 46, of 1900 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Tuesday at 9:23 a.m. on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of possession of clonazepam with intent to distribute, failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace interfering with lawful occupation, failure to appear on charges of hit and run driving, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, following too closely, operating a motor vehicle not covered by security and failure to carry registration certificate, failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and operating a vehicle with an expired license plate and failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, operating a vehicle without proof of insurance, possession of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, speeding, improper lane usage and improper use of license plate.
A deputy went to Reed’s residence in an effort to locate her on the warrants. The deputy observed Reed leaving the residence in a vehicle and stopped the SUV. Reed was subsequently transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Reed was released on a $14,000 bond.
Brett Sanders, 27, of 428 Lagonda Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Tuesday at 3:55 p.m. on charges of improper lane usage, general speed law violation, obstruction of justice and possession of Schedule I marijuana.
A narcotics detective patrolling the Patterson and Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle speeding 65 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone on US 90. The detective also observed the vehicle cross over the fog line of the roadway. The detective conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Sanders. While speaking with Sanders, the detective developed information that illegal narcotics were inside the vehicle. The detective contacted the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit to assist in the investigation. K-9 Buddy indicated the presence of illegal drugs inside the vehicle. During a search of the truck, detectives located two partially burnt marijuana cigars. Detectives also found evidence that Sanders discarded marijuana during the traffic stop. Sanders was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Juvenile male, 14, of Centerville, was arrested Tuesday at 1:08 p.m. on charges of ungovernable juvenile, curfew violation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and no driver’s license.
Deputies investigated a call for service regarding an ungovernable juvenile. Deputies found that the juvenile drove a vehicle from a residence, without permission from his guardian. Following the investigation, the juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Homer Lalonde, 41, of 324 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Thursday at 11:41 p.m. on charges of proper head lights required and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle with green fog lights and conducted a traffic stop on Southeast Blvd. The deputy identified the driver as Lalonde and found that he was driving the vehicle with a suspended license. Lalonde was released on a summons.
Marvin Verret, 74, of 312 Camile Drive, Patterson, was arrested Thursday at 5:05 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of crab traps. A deputy investigating vehicle crash on Kathleen Street in Patterson identified one of the driver’s as Verret and located the active warrant for his arrest. Verret was released on a summons.
Van Clay, 38, of 11411 Old Jeanerette Road, Jeanerette, was arrested Wednesday at 8:42 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, hit and run driving and flight from an officer.
During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional deputy located the active warrant for Clay’s arrest. Clay was released on a $2,500.
