Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Jake Burke, 23, of Cane Road, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 1:25 p.m. on warrants dated Oct. 5 for charges of domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault with a firearm. Burke was booked, processed, and released on a $5,000 bond.
Steven Richard Sr., 37, of Tamporella Lane, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:28 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule I narcotics marijuana, possession of Schedule II narcotics cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charge of speeding, and a warrant for Patterson Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Richard was booked, processed, and held on a $12,000 bond.
Ronald Jones, 37, of Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:54 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule I narcotics marijuana - third offense, possession of Schedule II narcotics cocaine - first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia - second offense, and a warrant for City Court of Thibodaux for failure to appear on the charge of resisting an officer. Jones was booked, processed, and held on a $15,000 bond.
Jason Hebert, 37, of Tamporella Lane, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:54 p.m. on the charges of possession of Schedule I narcotics marijuana, possession of Schedule II narcotics cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hebert was booked, processed, and released on a $12,000 bond.
Randy Foret, 27, of Main Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 5:41 p.m. on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Foret was booked, processed, and released on a $308 bond.
Morris Thibeaux, 51, of Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 4:06 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace by intoxication and remaining where forbidden. Thibeaux was booked, processed, and held on a $1,500 bond.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Lynette Singleton, 39, of 292 Mallard St., Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 2:51 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule II crack cocaine and cocaine with intent to distribute over 28 grams, possession of Schedule I MDMA with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law drug free zone.
Narcotics detectives investigating a complaint of illegal drug activity stopped and spoke with subjects, including Singleton, near a vehicle on Mallard Street in Morgan City. K-9 Buddy showed a response to the odor of illegal drugs on the vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant for the SUV, detectives found two bags of cocaine, several smaller bags of cocaine and crack cocaine, and over 160 pills of MDMA. The investigation took place within the housing authority which is a drug free zone. Morgan City Police assisted on scene. Singleton was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Gary Davis, 32, of 622 South Post Oak Road, Lot 18 A, Lake Charles, was arrested Friday at 2:03 a.m. on charges of general speed law violation, reckless operation with an accident, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, aggravated flight from an officer, disturbing the peace language and a warrant for the charge of failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation.
A deputy responded to a call for service from a business in Amelia regarding a disturbance. While en route, the deputy located a vehicle suspected of being involved, and initiated a traffic stop on La. 182 in Morgan City. The driver failed to pull over and continued to travel onto US 90 eastbound where he accelerated to a high rate of speed. The deputy followed and observed the vehicle drive off the roadway and into a tree line near the Amelia exit. The deputy detained the driver and identified him as Davis. The deputy found that Davis had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and that he was driving with a suspended license. Following the investigation, Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Terrance Ledet, 26, of 839½ Canal St., Jeanerette, was arrested Thursday at 8:22 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
While working in Four Corners, a deputy came into contact with Ledet at a business on La. 182 and located the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a single vehicle crash on US 90 in Baldwin, in April. Ledet was released on a summons.
Martin Dalcour Jr., 54, of 105 Polly Lane, Lafayette, was arrested Wednesday at 1:52 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.
A correctional deputy transported Dalcour from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the warrant. Bail is set at $2,500.
Heather Padgett, 42, of 7408 La. 182 E., Room 147, Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 2:51 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
In 2013, Padgett was convicted of aggravated incest in St. Landry Parish. A detective of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Section conducted a compliance check found that Padgett failed to register as a sex offender and obtained a warrant for her arrest. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional deputy located the active warrant for her arrest. No bail is set.
Eugena Livas, 47, of 18 Ellis St., Patterson, was arrested Friday at 3:21 p.m. on the charge of theft.
A deputy investigating a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista, collected evidence that Livas, an employee, stole items on five separate occasions. Livas was released on a summons.
Brandon Gaudet, 27, of 112 Ledoux Circle, Patterson, was arrested Friday at 4:33 p.m. on charges of resisting an officer, battery on a police officer and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
A deputy went to a residence in Centerville to locate Gaudet on the active warrant. The deputy found Gaudet hiding in a shed and ordered him to come out. As the suspect exited the building he swung his arm at the deputy, pushed the deputy, and attempted to flee on foot. The deputy apprehended Gaudet and subsequently transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Juvenile male, 11, of Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:20 a.m. on the charge of simple battery.
A deputy investigating a report of a battery at Centerville High School, collected evidence that the juvenile male in question, pushed the juvenile male victim to the floor. The juvenile who was taken into custody was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Stacy Burnett, 34, of 116 Camie Lane, Cypremort Point, was arrested Friday at 8:56 p.m. on charges of violation of protective orders, obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, possession of Schedule IV lorazepam and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple assault.
A deputy received a request to remove a subject from a residence in Cypremort Point. The deputy spoke with the subject, identified as Burnett, and found that she was in violation of a protective order and had an active warrant for her arrest. The deputy also located methamphetamine and lorazepam pills in Burnett’s belongings. After transporting Burnett to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking, the deputy located two hypodermic needles beneath the seat of the police unit that had been checked for contraband prior to the transport. No bail is set.
Brikinya McZeal, 33, of 1341 Twenty Arpent Road, New Iberia, was arrested Saturday at 7:12 p.m. on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and failure to properly signal a turn.
A deputy traveling on US 90 in Bayou Vista observed a vehicle changing lanes twice without signaling the maneuvers. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, McZeal, the deputy found that she was driving with a suspended license. McZeal was released on a summons.
Therold James, 33, of 308 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Saturday at 10:11 p.m. on the charge of remaining where forbidden.
A correctional deputy contacted a patrol deputy to assist with a subject who refused to leave the booking area. The patrol deputy spoke with the subject, James, and offered him a ride to another location. James refused to leave the area and was subsequently booked. He was later released on a recognizance bond.
Derrick Parker Sr., 41, of 165 Eckart Drive, New Iberia, was arrested Sunday at 1:18 am on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated—second offense, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, no motor vehicle insurance, no proof of registration in vehicle and obstruction of a highway of commerce.
A deputy responded to a call for service about a reckless driver in the Centerville area, on US 90. The deputy located the suspect vehicle stopped in a lane of travel and observed the driver to be asleep at the wheel. The deputy made contact with the driver and identified him as Parker. While speaking with the man, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy performed a standardized field sobriety test. Parker conducted the test poorly. The deputy also found that Parker was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and no proof of insurance. The deputy transported Parker to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Parker was released on a $7,000 bond.
Terry Sonnier, 52, of 326 East 5th St., Larose, was arrested Sunday at 12:58 a.m. on charges of simple assault and reckless operation.
A deputy responded to a call for service regarding a motorist waving a gun at another motorist on US 90 in the Garden City area. The deputy spoke with the subjects involved and found evidence that Sonnier used a handgun to threaten another driver. The deputy also found that Sonnier was operating his vehicle in a reckless manner during the confrontation on the roadway. Sonnier was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He was released on a $1,500 bond.
Kyrelle Collins, 22, of 5506 Leona Drive, New Iberia, was arrested Sunday at 8:24 p.m. on charges of negligent injuring and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Big Four Corners Road. Detectives investigating the case found that Collins was handling a weapon outside at a business on Big Four Corners Road when the handgun fired striking a male victim in the stomach. The victim was transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment. Collins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Ingrid Jack, 27, of 1158 La. 83, Lot 1, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 1:20 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of direct contempt, speeding, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to honor written promise to appear.
A deputy investigating a separate complaint on La. 83, came into contact with Jack and located the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Jack to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $445.
