For the more than 40 years since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, no issue has divided Americans more than abortion.
But on Sunday, along one stretch of westbound U.S. 90 near Wise Street in Patterson, there was no division.
About 70 people, most members of nearby St. Joseph Catholic Church, lined the highway for the church’s annual Life Chain event. The participants ranged from elementary school age to the age at which sitting in chairs a few yards off the highway was the better part of valor.
