Regulators hope to boost industry and keep safety

Federal officials are trying to find a balance between helping energy production flourish in the Gulf of Mexico and ensuring businesses are environmentally responsible, industry regulator Scott Angelle said. Angelle is director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, which is a branch of the federal Department of the Interior. President Donald Trump appointed him to the position in May.
