FFD awards scholarship
The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department has announced the 2017 E. Louis Boudreaux Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Aimee’ K. Bertrand of Franklin High School. Bertrand is a graduating senior and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her four years and achieved many honors for her studies and extracurricular activities. She is attending Nichols State University pursuing a medical degree. Franklin Volunteer Fire Department President Toddy Boudreaux said that the scholarship was established in honor and memory of E. “Louis” Boudreaux, a 20-plus year member of the department. Louis was a dedicated firefighter that helped guide the fire service of St. Mary Parish for many years. He said Amiee’ is a deserving individual and “we are quite proud that she received the E. Louis Boudreaux Memorial Scholarship.” Pictured are Aimee’ K. Bertrand, scholarship recipient, and Toddy Boudreaux.
