A longtime Morgan City-area attorney and philanthropist received recognition posthumously Saturday along with his widow for their great contributions to the community. St. Mary Parish Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Acadiana, recognized its 2017 St. Mary Parish Leaders in Philanthropy and 2017 Role Models during its annual “Walk the Red Carpet” Gala at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. The late Alfred Sol Lippman and his wife of 60 years, Gail Poche Lippman, were honored as the 2017 St. Mary Parish Leaders in Philanthropy for their outstanding contributions to the community. Al Lippman, 78, died Oct. 17, 2016.
