On Thursday, the St. Mary Parish School Board recognized its top word millionaires: Bayou Vista Elementary fourth-grader Ashley Tenorio, who read 1,285,037 words; and Berwick Junior High seventh-grader Stanley Aucoin IV, who read 4,886,819 words.

The School Board awarded certificates to the winners in the Red Ribbon Week Slogan And Drawing contests. They are Morgan City Junior High sixth-grader Logan Collins, who won the slogan contest, and Hanson Memorial senior Grace Faucheaux, who won the drawing contest.
