City of Franklin turns on the lights
Franklin’s Christmas lights were turned on Saturday night, following a long parade of decorated golf carts, bands and more.
Dr. Ray Giguette of Nicholls State University takes the controls in the river vessel wheelhouse. In the simulation, he guides the tug and barges through a river exercise that was designed to build the skills of boat captains that navigate Louisiana waterways.
Catherine Holcomb of St. Mary Excel discusses the Morgan City and Berwick location with Nicholls State University faculty. The waterways that surround the area were highlighted by the Urban Land Institute as a means to diversify the area's economy.
