September city cleanup

VFW post 4201 sponsored Franklin’s monthly Cleanup early in September. Eleven bags of litter, including many cigarette butts, were removed from Teche Drive, Main Street and the Teche Theatre area. Representing the sponsor were Herman Hamilton, Albert Alexander, Shirley Bemmer and Glynn Bradley. Community volunteers were Ruthie Heard, Elaine Karam, Trent Downing, Alex Hamlin, Marguerite Robinson of Teche Talk, Michelle and David Skillings, Franklin Foundation Hospital, Toya Colbert, Gabrielle Carbin, Darrell Babineaux; and Didi Battle representing Keep St. Mary Beautiful. FFH supplied gloves, bags and grabbers; Argus Spa provided bottled water.
