Harvey victims welcomed to parish

Parish President David Hanagriff has reached out to Hurricane Harvey victims and businesses.
In a correspondence, Hanagriff wrote, “As rescue efforts in Texas and SW Louisiana continue, our prayers are for the continued safety of your family and friends. St. Mary Parish, no strangers to flooding events devastating Houston and the surrounding region, we understand the long term challenges associated with recovery for both businesses and residents, once the water recedes.”
Hanagriff offered ways the parish can help those affected. “St. Mary Parish, Louisiana is available to assist with the recovery and needs your help. If your company or suppliers have a presence in the impacted region, please extend an invitation to temporarily relocate in St. Mary Parish. For housing accommodations, the parish has single family rentals, apartments and hotels including extended stay available. If families have school age children, displaced by the storm, the parish can offer quality education in its public school system.
“St. Mary Parish is looking forward to assisting you in your time of need,” Hanagriff concluded.
