Christmas Time in the Country

Standing for Community Advancement Together held its annual Christmas Time in the Country event Dec. 3. President Lionel “Butch” Metz said the event consisted of a bicycle give-away and a mini-festival with food, jewelry and arts and crafts. Tyrone Johnson is also a member of the committee. Companies, business owners, churches, organizations and individuals donated some 90 bicycles, and the children were required to write thank you letters to the donators. A special bicycle was donated by Metz and his family to honor his family members and others who have survived cancer or lost the battle. The committee expressed their gratitude to all those who helped make the event a success.
