Alex P. Allain Memorial Library welcomes author M.M. Le Blanc with a book signing for her award-winning historical fiction Evangeline: Paradise Stolen.
The event is Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
M.M. Le Blanc, descendent of Rene Le Blanc, the King’s Notary in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s famous Evangeline, crafts a tale of political intrigue and betrayal culminating of the British deportation of the Acadians. Coozan Dud’s oral history gives life to this unforgettable romance between its star-crossed lovers, Evangeline and Gabriel. Evangeline: Paradise Stolen has won the awards for Best Book in Louisiana, Best Historical Fiction in Paris, and at theFrance Book Festival.
Le Blanc will also discuss the new editions of her grandfather’s books The True Story of the Acadians, the 90th edition, and The Acadian Miracle, the 40th anniversary edition. Complete with photographs, footnotes, bibliographies and detailed information of the Acadians’ involvement in the Revolutionary War, these titles are rich resources for genealogists, historians, and history enthusiasts.
