Arrest in 2016 Baldwin death made

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives recently found evidence connecting Russell Anthony Richard Jr. to the 2016 death of 45 year-old Reynell Lockett Richard of Baldwin
A warrant was obtained for Richard’s arrest on the charge of second degree murder.
Detectives previously sought Richard as a possible witness/person of interest in the 2016 death investigation.
He was arrested last week in Oklahoma City, Okla. on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery, in 2016.
Another arrest of Richard was affected Wednesday at 4:28 p.m. on a warrant for failing to appear to court for a revocation hearing regarding the charge of simple battery.
Richard remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.
