Woman charged with DWI in 2018 crash case

Berwick police made an arrest in a 2018 drunk-driving case and another on a methamphetamine possession charge, according to arrest reports:

Berwick
Police Chief David Leonard reported this arrest:
—Crystal Thompson, 43, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:49 pm. Tuesday on warrants alleging driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a motor vehicle with crash.
About 4:49 p.m. Tuesday, Thompson turned herself into the Berwick Police Department for active warrants for her arrest. The warrants stem from a crash that Thompson was involved in back in 2018. Thompson was placed under arrest and book.
—Abner Bautista, 20, Lake Avenue, Metairie, was arrested at 7:08 a.m. Wednesday on charges of speeding 77 mph in a 55 mph zone, no driver’s license and failure to register vehicle.
About 6:38 a.m. Wednesday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a speeding violation on U.S. 90. Officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Bautista. During this time, it was learned that his vehicle was not registered and he did not have a valid driver’s license.
Bautista was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.
—Elaina Ashmore, 22, Third Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:57 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and resisting an officer.
On Thursday, officers responded to a residence on Third Street in reference to a family member locating possible narcotics in another family member’s bedroom. Upon arrival, officers made con-tact with the complainant, who stated that suspected methamphetamine was located in Ashmore’s bedroom.
Officers located the suspected methamphetamine and made contact with Ashmore. While speak-ing with Ashmore, she began pulling away from officers. Ashmore was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where she was booked.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 46 complaints and made these arrests:
—Cedric Darnell Dupas, 34, Franklin, was arrested at 8:41 a.m. Thursday on a charge of stalking. Dupas was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Kajuan Ferdinand, 23, Patterson, was arrested at 9:56 a.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of failure to yield right of way and possession of marijuana. Ferdinand was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Stephanie M. Manjarrez, 28, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:51 p.m. Thursday on a charge of attempted theft. Manjarrez was released on a summons to appear June 15
—Chad Andrew Breaux, 41, Gueydan, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled. Breaux was released on a $3,500 bond.
—William L. Dugar, 62, Patterson, was arrested at 11:24 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving on right side of road-exceptions and no insurance. Dugar was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Tariq Perry, 22, Franklin, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of resisting an officer, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Bail was set at $15,000.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 30 calls for service over the last 24-reporting period and made this arrest:
—Kenneth R. Rhodes Sr., 75, Roderick Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:56 p.m. Thursday on a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant alleging two counts of failure to appear for trial.
