UPDATED: Sheriff's Office releases name of homicide victim

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office identified the Baldwin woman who was shot and killed over the weekend.
The victim was identified as Karlnita Marks, 25.
Deputies responded to a call at 12:31 a.m. Saturday. Deputies discovered that she had been shot and was transported to a hospital. She later died as a result of the incident.
Detectives are investigating her death as a homicide. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith also reported those arrests:
—Nicole Lynn Benedietto, 36, North Prairie Road, Franklin, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and stop signs and yield signs. Benedietto was released on a summons to appear Aug. 21.
—Gary Jason Beeson, 45, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Houma, was arrested at 9:05 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of less than $1,000. Beeson was released on a $10,000 bond.
—David J. Robertson, Jr., 22, Rod Lane, Baldwin, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana and improper lane usage. Robertson was released on a summons to appear Aug. 21.
—Leroy Heaton, 32, Two Sister’s Court, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace by intoxication and battery of a dating partner. Heaton was released on a $3,500 bond.
—Matthew P. Beadle, 32, 135 Domino Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. Sunday on a charge of battery of a dating partner. Beadle was released on a $2,500 bond.
—Kabrini Hale Rochel, 26, Braxton Drive, Youngsville, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery. Rochel was released on a $535 bond.
—Vickey Celeste Green, 42, Schowitz Street, Houston, was arrested at 11:56 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to use seat belts. Green was released on a $100 bond.
—Staci Lyn Siegendorf, 47, Windwart Drive, New Bern, North Carolina, was arrested at 7:37 a.m. Sunday on a charge of unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling. No bail has been set.
—Shannon Gail Wright, 29, Pecan Street, Patterson, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on a charge of aggravated domestic abuse battery and on an active warrant for the charges of possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. No bail has been set.
Morgan City Police Chief James F. Blair reported these arrests:
—Tasha Lynn Boudreaux, 38, Versen Street, Berwick, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Friday on warrants for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia Xanax, Suboxone and amphetamine and for failure to appear.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of La.182. Boudreaux was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. A warrant check revealed Morgan City Police Department and City Court of Morgan City held active warrants. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department of booking and incarceration.
—Erica Lee Gaddy, 32, Fig Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for three counts of failure to appear.
Officers came into contact with Gaddy in the area of Fig Street. A warrant check revealed the City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department of booking and incarceration.
—Tiffany Nicole Chauvin, 37, Freret Street, Morgan City, was arrested on at 6:07 p.m. Saturday on a charges of use of a wireless telecommunication device while driving, possession with intent to to distribute methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brashear Avenue for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Chauvin. During the traffic stop, she was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department of booking and incarceration.
—Alan Granger, 35, La. 316, Gray, was arrested on at 9:05 p.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery.
—Jeffery Watts, North Bayou Black, Gibson, was arrested at 9:05 p.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery
Officers were called to an address on La. 70 for a disturbance. They learned Granger and Watts committed a battery during the disturbance. Both Alan Granger and Jeffery Watts were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department of booking and incarceration.
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reported theses arrests:
—Larry L. Baker, 57, of Portaer Court, Bayou Lourse, was at 2 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of Subutex, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and driving under suspension.
About 1:12 p.m. Friday, the Berwick Police Department received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle on River Road. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Baker.
Baker’s driver’s license was found to be suspended and he was placed under arrest. Upon arrival at the Berwick Jail, Baker was found to be concealing a Subutex pill on his person. He was additionally charged and booked into the Berwick Jail with no bond set.
—Ryan J. Delahoussaye, 26, Legnon Court, Bayou Lourse, was arrested at 5:38 p.m. Saturday on a Berwick Police Department warrant for violation of protective orders.
On Friday the Berwick Police Department began investigating a complaint in which Delahoussaye had violated a protective order that was filed against him. At the conclusion of the investigation, an arrest warrant was prepared. Officers made contact with Delahoussaye by phone and on Saturday he turned himself in on the warrant. He was booked into the Berwick Jail on the warrant and was released after posting at $2,500 bond.
—Kristin M. Aucoin, 26, of River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the Control- led Dangerous Substance Act (drug-free zone).
About midnight Saturday, officers were patrolling the Fourth Street area when they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from a porch at a residence where two individuals were sitting. Officers made contact with the individuals and in the process, located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Aucoin admitted that the marijuana and paraphernalia belonged to her. The incident took place in the Berwick Housing Authority, which is posted as a drug-free zone. Aucoin was placed under arrest and booked into the Berwick Jail with no bond set.
