Update from Morgan City Police Department

Chief James F. Blair and the Morgan City Police Department want to update our citizens of on the Storm Recovery Efforts in Morgan City. As of 1:00 p.m. latest updates indicated that all of the problems have been identified. Problems with major utility poles are being repaired through out Morgan City. Electricity has been restored to parts of the city. According to Mayor Lee Dragna most of the city should be restored by the end of the day. City clean up crews are working to pick all debris. As you are cleaning your personal yards please pile up all debris at the road. The City of Morgan City will handle the removal of all of the debris. Please allow our City Crews work as the return Morgan City back to normalcy.
As of now a CURFEW will still be effect from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. All cell service is still down within Morgan City for AT&T and Verizon. If you do have power you can use WIFI to make calls and contact others via Social Media. Our land lines are still available to receive calls or you can call 911. The Morgan City Police Department is still conducting extra patrols to assure the safety of all of our citizens.
