Two more drug arrests by Morgan City police

After making three marijuana possession arrests Tuesday, Morgan City police made two more Wednesday and early Thursday. The Wednesday arrest also involved weapons charges.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 34 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

—Somoa Kenyatt Scott Jr., 25, Sacred Heart Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, driving under suspension and window tint violation.

—Shawn Michael Thompson, 44, Lambert Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of justice.

—Joshua Dale Repp, 23, Oak Lane, Pierre Part, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

—Omar Silva, 45, Lakeview Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless
operation of a motor vehicle, no driver’s license, improper lane usage and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

—Casey Nichole Eschete, 38, Sacred Heart Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay probation fees (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Franklin

Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 10 complaints over the past 24 hours and made these arrests:

—Sabrina Darby, 25, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:38 a.m. Thursday on charges of disturbing the peace (obscene language) and resisting an officer. Darby was booked, processed and held on a $3,500 bond.
